According to a Journal of Clinical Psychiatry study, telehealth and in-person visits were equally effective in patient satisfaction and treatment credibility. As detailed in an article in Becker's Hospital Review (link to article), the study focused on 241 elderly patients, approximately half of whom were treated via telemedicine and half via in-patient, dealing with depression. Results were that there was no significant difference between the two methods of delivering care, leading the researchers to conclude that telemedicine is a viable modality for behavioral treatments. In the last year, MyIdealDoctor (@myidealdoctor) and other telehealth companies have expanded their offerings to address patients' behavioral needs. |
